The staff mobility datasets show educator (i.e., teachers) movements across the schools and districts. The staff mobility datasets show educator (i.e., teachers) movements across the schools and districts. The data in these datasets categorize educators into three groups in each school year compared to the previous year: "Leaver" (a staff who was a teacher in Year 1 and has left the education workforce in Year 2), "Stayer" (an educator who has stayed in the same School / District since the previous year) and "Mover" (a staff who has moved from one School to another School or from one District to another District in year 2 compared to Year 1- but does not exit the workforce).
One of the mobility datasets provide data at the individual level (i.e., by RPIC) and have variables based on the School Year and the School / District the person was assigned to. It’s possible an individual is assigned to more than one School / District, so for those educators the word “Multiple” is entered under the School or District variable. Otherwise it’s the School / District code of the individual staff.
The other mobility dataset aggregates the data to a School and District Level and calculate the rates of Leavers, Stayers, and Movers as well as provide totals of each.
